Thanks for checking out my Power of 11 page! I'm have been so proud to be a part of South Bronx United for the last ten years and of the dedicated students, families, volunteers, and staff that I get to work with every day. It is incredibly bittersweet to be wrapping up my time at SBU this week as I prepare for my maternity leave and eventual relocation to the South Jersey area.
SBU has been my home for the last decade and I am so grateful for the way this community has welcomed me with kindness and everything I have learned from everyone I've had the honor of getting to know over the years. The meaningful relationships and memories I have made here will always be a part of me!
Beyond the fulfillment of my everyday work and all the little moments that have made it so special, here are a few of my all time highlights:
- Memorial Day weekend trips with the GU19 team to DC/Virginia in 2017 and Boston in 2019
- Starting the annual tradition of SBU MLK Day of Service in 2019
- Taking five female student-athletes to Lyon, France for the 2019 Women's World Cup and a gender equity festival
- Starting the Football for Equality initiative at SBU to increase girls access to soccer in the South Bronx
- Doing house visits to deliver Graduation Care Packages to all SBU seniors in 2020 who didn't get to enjoy their graduation ceremony to due to Covid 19
- The Class of 2022 Graduation ceremony to celebrate a group of students who I had seen through their full cycle in the SBU Academy from 6th grade to 12th grade
- Seeing the growth of SBU as we opened the SBU Clubhouse and Clubhouse Cafe
- Reflecting on the last ten years and having the chance to see and thank so many student-athletes, families, and colleagues for an amazing 10 years!
