South Bronx United (SBU) is more than just a nonprofit- it’s a family. It’s a community built on the belief that soccer can be a powerful tool for opportunity, connection, and change. Every year, SBU supports more than 1,800 youth through programs that stretch far beyond the soccer field—providing academic support, college and career guidance, mentorship, legal services, and leadership development.
As a native Bronxite, a first-generation American, and a first-generation college graduate, this mission is deeply personal to me. I’ve seen firsthand the barriers that young people in the Bronx face, and I’ve spent the last five years working as a fundraiser at SBU to help ensure that they have the opportunities, support, and resources they need to succeed.
This year, I became a Team Captain for the #PowerOf11 Campaign because I believe in the power of this community. I believe in what happens when young people are surrounded by mentors who care, coaches who push them, staff who support them, and teammates who become lifelong friends. That’s the SBU Family, and I’m proud to be part of it.
In 2025, we plan to grow our impact by reaching more youth than ever through our girls leadership league- a program with a primary mission of getting girls in the game and keeping them there. I invite you to be part of this journey with me! Every dollar raised helps us reach another young person, support another family, and grow the impact of this incredible community.
Please consider making a gift—every amount counts!
