WHAT IS THE #POWEROF11? WHERE DO THE FUNDS RAISED GO?
The #PowerOf11 is South Bronx United’s awareness and fundraising campaign to support programming on the soccer field and in the classroom that reaches more than 1,300 young people and their families.

Entering this year, the South Bronx had the highest poverty rate of any Congressional District in the nation and the lowest health outcomes of any county in the state of New York. Now, the Bronx is the borough hardest hit by the coronavirus, with the highest fatality rate and the most hospitalizations in a city that is arguably the epicenter of a global pandemic. In the organization’s 11th year, South Bronx United is doing what it can to support its youth, families, and community through these unprecedented times. Through the #PowerOf11 supporters can help to fight these inequities. Right now, SBU’s work continues to provide college access, online tutoring, academic advocacy, counseling, critical information on government programs, immigration assistance, health and fitness resources, recreational videos, and material needs (e.g. laptops, food delivery credit, emergency college scholarships) to the youth and families in our community. At the same time, SBU is preparing for a return to programming that will bring back some normalcy to young people’s lives and combat a widening educational, socioeconomic, and health gap.
