This year I will be running the New York Marathon in support of South Bronx United, an organization I have had the privilege of working with over the last 3 years as a coach / junior board member, giving me the chance to see their incredible work first hand. All proceeds will go directly to SBU, and there are a few perks to keep things interesting:
1) Donations of $300+ will receive a limited edition, locally-designed SBU jersey (please include your size and mailing address with your donation!)
2) Donations of $100+ can sponsor a mile, which will be written on my jersey, or select a song for my playlist - both get an in-race shoutout (add them in the comments of your donation!)
Founded in 2009 to address a lack of youth athletic programs in the South Bronx, SBU uses athletics to drive social change, and has grown to include academic enrichment, college prep, mentoring, leadership development, health and wellness programs, immigration legal services, and other family and youth support. The SBU Academy has a 100% high school graduation rate and 94% college matriculation rate. College-readiness rates of graduates are three-times the rate of their peers.
This cause is very dear to me, and I appreciate support in any / all amounts!
